Who is the course for:
This course is suitable for those involved in community activity who have a particular interest in understanding how a community organisation functions and who wish to improve their skills in this area.

Outline of course content:
The course covers:
• Responsibilities of committees and office bearers
• Agendas and meetings
• Legal structures of community organisations
• Community forums and partnerships

Course aims:
This course aims to improve the knowledge and practical skills of those involved in community activity.

Possible progression routes:
At the end of the course participants will be offered the opportunity to explore what UPC programmes would be of interest to them.  Many participants progress to OCN Level 1 Introduction to Community Development or OCN Level 2 Community Leadership.
