Who is the course for:
This course is suitable for community groups, smaller voluntary organisations and interested individuals. It is beneficial for groups who wish to examine their public profile and identify opportunities to increase and improve their profile.
Outline of course content:
This course covers:
• Identifying what a group wishes to publicise and the intended audience
• Designing effective publicity material
• Producing press releases
• Designing, implementing and evaluating a publicity campaign
Course aims:
The course provides participants with an understanding of the importance of developing an effective publicity strategy for an organisation. It will enable participants to create publicity material, write press releases and have a good understanding of key media outlets.
Possible progression routes:
At the end of the course participants will be offered the opportunity to explore what UPC programmes would be of interest to them.
