Who is the course for:
This course is suitable for individuals and community groups who want to learn about research techniques, monitoring and evaluation in a community development context. It is also useful for community groups who are undertaking community surveys.
Outline of course content:
This course covers:
• The role of research in community development
• What is meant by 'monitoring' and 'evaluation' and how they are used
• A range of evaluation techniques
Course aims:
The course aims to explore the role of research and evaluation in community development. Participants will learn about and apply a range of research and evaluation techniques.
Possible progression routes:
At the end of the course participants will be offered the opportunity to explore what UPC programmes would be of interest to them. Many participants progress to OCN Level 3 in Community Development or OCN Level 3 in Community Relations.
