This course will look at the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights and will outline its relationship to the UN Millennium Development
Goals. The course will develop an understanding of different approaches to
human rights. It will give participants an understanding of both social and
economic rights and civil and political rights and their development and
realisation over time. There will be a particular focus on the development of a
Bill of Rights for Northern
Ireland.
The course will run from 9:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The
course is free of charge and will be held at the Ulster Peoples
College.
