Duration: 10 hours per unit


Who is the course for:
This course is designed to introduce new and emerging community organisations to the key concepts relating to community development.


Outline of course content:
Groups can choose from at least one of the following units:
• Communication and Negotiation: Defining Communication and Assertiveness
• Community Organisation
• Fundraising
• Leadership
• Understanding Communities

 

Course aims:
The course aims to introduce groups to key skills and concepts of community development.


Possible progression routes:
At the end of the course participants will be offered the opportunity to explore what UPC programmes would be of interest to them.  Many participants progress to OCN Level 2 Community Leadership.

• Skills practice
• Short worksheets
• Group exercises
